This is an interesting way of making animals light, and to move. The technique  of using cane is an old one for creating things, and was later used in War Horse to great effect. Lightweight, and operated by people inside, walking and pulling strings for ears and head movement – it take a toll on the fingers bending the cane.

Nice animals but the show flopped.
